English in Education is our work in formal education systems. We work across the education sector in primary, secondary and tertiary (TVET, HE) and pre-service and in-service teacher education.

English Language Teaching in Education

Experts in teacher development, assessment and curricula, we use our experience to improve English teaching and learning opportunities for both teachers and learners and expand access to high-quality professional development.

Our work enables more informed decision making about curriculum development, learning standards and teacher development needs, supporting Armenia to build a sustainable education system and introduce more effective and inclusive practices into everyday teaching. This leads to teachers empowered with the confidence, knowledge and tools they need to improve their own practice and transform outcomes for all learners.

Over the last five years, we have worked closely with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MoESCS) of the Republic of Armenia to support its ambitious, system-wide education reform – from preschool to higher education.

Our shared goals have focused on aligning the teacher accreditation system with international standards and offer needs-based Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for teachers. A key milestone in this partnership was the adaptation and localisation of the British Council’s evidence-based CPD framework to meet Armenia’s specific needs, fostering positive and lasting change in English teaching across the country.
