To book your test you will need to:
- Make sure you have a form of valid ID (passport or national ID card) at hand, as you will need to upload a clear photocopy of it when you book your test. Please note that candidates under 18 years of age have to supply written consent by a parent or guardian in order to apply for a test place. Also note, that the ID you register with must be available on the test day, otherwise you will not be allowed to sit the test
- Download and read our Information for Candidates, which contains important information about the test format, the question types and the test results. Please note that IELTS is not recommended for test takers under the age of 16.
- Pay for your test. You can pay for your test through our online registration system, through EasyPay terminals, EasyWallet mobile app or via bank transfer (HSBC Bank Armenia, 001-146026-050). In the Reference section of your payment please write: [IELTS / family name / test date / reference number].
- Once you have made the payment, please send us the payment receipt and the color photocopy of your identification document (your passport or European ID card) to our Customer Service Team at firstname.lastname@example.org. We need to receive all documents within five working days of your online registration, otherwise we will not be able to process your application further.
If you choose paper-based IELTS, you will answer the Listening, Reading and Writing sections on a paper. The Speaking test is carried out face-to-face with a trained IELTS examiner.
If you choose computer-delivered IELTS, you will take the Listening, Reading and Writing sections on a computer. The Speaking test will remain face to face with a trained IELTS examiner, as we believe it is the most effective way of assessing your speaking skills.
There is a specific IELTS test for UK visas and immigration. If you are looking to work, study or live in the UK then you may need to take this test.
Students of IAB Academy, our official registration partner, may book through the Academy.
IELTS test date confirmation
Once you have completed the booking process, you will receive a confirmation three days before the test date giving you the start time of your test and the venue address.
Your Speaking test may be scheduled on the same day as the other sections, or on a different day within a 7 day window before or after your main test day. The test centre will send you a confirmation for the Speaking Test date via email and text mesage to mobile phone at least three working days in advance.
After booking your test, you will also receive an automatic email with your access codes to the free online course: Road to IELTS.
You will also receive your IELTS Reference Number to access the Test Taker Portal. Please make sure that you have included your email address correctly when you book your test.
