Our annual British Film Festival returns this February for its sixteenth edition to showcase the latest productions of the UK film industry.
British film festival is one of the British Council’s flagship events through which we aim to share with the Armenian audience the culture, lifestyle and values of the United Kingdom, highlight the latest developments and the emerging social and cultural issues of interest of modern Britain.
British Film Festival 2020 will present to the Armenian audience the works of acknowledged and emerging British filmmakers in genres ranging from comedy to drama and documentary.
The opening of the Festival will be on 15 February at 16.30 at Moscow Cinema followed by the screening of 'The Souvenir', Joanna Hogg's latest film which won Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival last year. The Festival will last until 21 February with screenings of 7 films in English with Armenian and Russian subtitles. Entrance to screenings is free of charge.
The special guest of the British Film Festival will be Ian Haydn Smith, a film journalist and critic from the UK. During the sessions organised with education and cultural institutions, Ian will provide insights into the modern trends of the UK film industry.
