Register for British Council Armenia’s professional development conference for English language teachers - Teaching for Success 2026 Conference!

‘Teaching for Success’ conference is British Council Armenia’s professional development conference for English language teachers and educators in Armenia.

The conference will be organised over two full days - on 28 February and 1 March 2026 – face to face in Yerevan, Armenia in partnership with the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, the National Centre for Education Development and Innovation, and Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University.

The conference’s overarching theme is ‘Quality Teaching for Quality Learning: Evidence, Innovation, and Impact’ in support of Armenia’s new teacher CPD Framework for teachers adopted by the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.

The conference aims to provide a platform for exploring the current trends and practices in English language teaching through the lens of Armenia’s CPD framework and its professional practices, while offering you the opportunity to connect with your peers and share your experiences with one another through talks and workshops.

Conference dates and venue

  • Day 1: 28 February 2026 – Saturday – From 10:00 to 17:00
  • Day 2: 1 March 2026 – Sunday - From 10:00 to 17:00
  • Venue: Ani Plaza Hotel (accessible for wheelchair users)

Conference format

The conference will host an array of sessions including:

Invited guest speaker from the UK ELT sector will share insight, expertise and the latest thinking in English Language Teaching sphere.

Selected teachers will deliver workshop sessions and talks in concurrent format on a combination of professional practices from the new CPD Framework for teachers.

The conference will host an interactive ELT quiz and a local guest speaker introducing an innovative solution for the teachers.

An engaging conversation with guest speaker, drawing on decades of experience as a teacher, trainer, author, and thought leader.

Selected teachers will be given a stage to voice their success stories in teaching and educating learners in TED-format short speeches. This activity will aim to inspire teachers and allow them to showcase their best practices and learning with their peers.

The full conference programme with details on the speakers, topics and timing will be shared with the conference attendees on 18 February 2026.

Guest speaker – Jeremy Harmer

Jeremy Harmer is a writer of methodology, coursebooks, resource books and graded readers. His books include The Practice of English Language Teaching and How to Teach English (Pearson), 50 Communicative activities (Cambridge), Story-based Language Teaching - with Herbert Puchta - (Helbling), Solo Saxophone (Cambridge) and many many others.

In a long career Jeremy has been a teacher, teacher trainer, academic manager and frequent speaker and workshop leader conferences and seminars all over the world. He is also a fiction writer and committed musician.

The recently established Betterlate Publishing will be releasing five titles in his English Teaching Today series over the next eighteen months.

Conference Participation

This professional development conference is open to all interested English teachers and educators - free of charge.

The registration deadline for the conference is 12 February 2026 – 12:00 PM.

  • Important note 1: all the session will be delivered in English.
  • Important note 2: There is a room capacity limitation and upon exceeding number of registrations, “First come - First served” policy will be used.

Certificate of Attendance

All participants will receive a British Council Certificate of Attendance.

  • Note 1: Each participant will receive only one certificate for attending the conference.
  • Note 2: To receive a certificate, in-venue re-registration is required.
  • Note 3: The Certificates of Attendance will be provided after the conference to the participants in electronic version through an online link. The participants can then print the certificates on an A4 (130 gram) paper and validate the certificates by visiting the British Council Armenia office and having them stamped for external use.
